You know who I miss? luxetumbra. I wonder what she's up to. Anyhow, if anyone has any Mirror Image related questions, let me know. p One thing which came up recently in a review, is why Hisoka was drawn to Muraki unwittingly in chapter 7. It's not because Muraki did anything to bring him; more like the curse still has some power over them, and tends to draw Hisoka to Muraki. Sort of explains why they kept running into each other (i.e. in Kyoto).

Made up from a combination of ideas and a friend's pantry/fridge.
I call it Two Meats, One Pot. But you know, you can call it something less freaky. Feel free to adjust to taste/amount required. I did all of this in a rice cooker, probably about a 5C capacity.
1.5 c rice 1 c salsa 1 can corn niblets, drained 1 can green beans, drained 1/2 kielbasa sausage, cut into small chunks 5 slices of bacon, cut into 0.5" pieces
Mix up all ingredients once cut and drained. Add 1.5 c water Cook in rice cooker. Once the cook cycle is done, let it sit in the rice cooker for another 15-20 minutes before serving.
Excellent additions include: Pepper Hot sauce Lemon juice
Serves 4-6, with leftovers.

So I accidentally signed up for a meme about that associated things. Topics provided by ssj10. 1. Food! <--(So specific, I know. Humour me.) Strongest to weakest in terms of cooking these things. Baking: Cookies Scones/biscuits Cakes Pies Yeasted Breads Cooking: Vegetables Stir fries (i.e. fried rice, noodles, etc) Eggs Soups Meats So pretty much I'd like to work on bread and meat. Good times, yo. I sort of have dreams of opening my own restaurant someday. 2. A Grocery List of Angst There's really an annoying trend in writing (and I want to say that this is probably mainly from people are trying to turn out a novel once a year) where the main character is just being followed around every day in everything they do. Like: "Today I went to the store and I talked to the sales clerk lady and then she pointed me out to a new dress that was a great color and then I tried it out and then..." Unless you're Sinclair Lewis or trying to make a real specific point, don't do it. 3. Violin I just got back from orchestra. It's interesting; I was talking to someone who had the same experience with me in high school (we were both in the same section in band, and the same youth symphony) and we both realized we probably would have played more if we didn't both have such terrible experiences through high school. I'm not very good, btw. That's not just modesty talking either. 4. Muraki Retired now after the big fic. I imagine he's having great adventures somewhere in my continuity. Or being a loser in Mirror Image. (Like how I got to sneak in some pimpage? XP) 5. Corb Lund Still love the music, but a little bit over him now. He wasn't nearly as nice without the lure of pretty girls (obviously not me). It was kind of lame. :\ Also, I wasn't that into the last album. A little too political or something, I don't know. Sort of lacked the charm of his earlier stuff, but maybe I need to listen to it more.

I've been helping greekhoop with her Trigun fic. I'm responsible for probably less than 10%, but I am pretty proud of it nonetheless. :P The Aeolian Harp. It's a sequel to the extremely awesome Semblence of Eden. Both are Legato/Dominique the Cyclops.

Just one fic, that's all it took. And I've renewed my love for Trigun. Damnit. It's really, really good. Dominique the Cyclops. Legato. The Gung-Ho Guns... Go read it. I can't wait for more.

A door-to-door salesthug, after finding out that our Sifu taught kung fu, challenged him to a fight.
"If I win, you have to buy 3 magazine subscriptions." He was serious, probably because he was a) a goddamn thug, and b) Sifu's an old fat man who doesn't look that tough.
...thankfully there was no fight, but that was the dumbest thing ever. No amount of money is worth being beaten into so much cat food.
(Also, Sifu might be a fat old man, but he's a scary fast, scary strong fat old man.)

We just had a moderate earthquake, which where I live (many, many miles from the epicenter), was felt more like a gentle rocking. Nothing fell, and there was no damage. Hell, I was IM'ing someone about it as it happened.
I noticed though, that for about 30 minutes, my cell phone couldn't make any outgoing calls or texts. I think it's probably because all the lines were tied up. So much for usefulness in an emergency.
Some phone tips for earthquake country:
1. If you have a landline, make sure you have a telephone that just plugs straight into the wall. If an earthquake or other natural disaster knocks out the power, all those cordless digital ELECTRIC phones will not work. 2. It's good to have a landline in addition to your cell phone, just in case of emergency (such as an earthquake) 3. Make sure you have an out of state or out of region contact. As I recall, those lines are less likely to go down when the local regional ones are. Though in the case of my cell phone, it didn't help because I couldn't call out of state.
Also, bonus tip: I learned it, the phone service is restored in this order:
1. Emergency lines 2. Pay phones 3. Residential lines
That way wherever people are, they can use pay phones to dial 911 when witnessing an immediate emergency.
